IVECO Bus Celebrates the 100th Anniversary of Its Annonay Plant in France

IVECO Bus is celebrating the 100th anniversary of its Annonay plant in France, a central player in shaping collective mobility since 1925. From the revolutionary ideas of founder Joseph Besset to today’s zero-emission technologies, production in Annonay has continually evolved, successfully adapting to industrial changes and driving innovation across generations.

A Hub for Innovation and Sustainable Transport

With over 1,200 employees, the factory remains a benchmark for bus manufacturing in Europe.

Today, as a pioneer in alternative fuel solutions, the plant integrates electric drive technologies and battery assembly into its production lines. The E-WAY/GX ELEC and E-WAY H2/GX 337 H2 urban transport ranges, featuring hydrogen fuel cells, as well as chassis intended for other group factories, are produced on-site. These models offer innovative and efficient solutions to accelerate the urban transition toward carbon neutrality, achieving the optimal balance between range and passenger capacity.
